Buttonwood Bay  is ideally positioned for a wide range of activities. The city of Fort Myers is just a 15 minute drive away, with Fort Myers beach, being only 25 minutes away. The  fabulous beaches of Sanibel and Captiva are nearby. Take a wildlife cruise and  go dolphin watching, or even take a trip to KeyWest. The quaint and exclusive town of Naples is easily SW Florida’s  most sophisticated city. It’s waterfront mansions and pricey boutiques belie  it’s friendly,  laid back attitude. Spend time at the Edison Ford a historic museums, one of America's largest attractions. Visit the many nature reserves, home to alligators, raccoons and the endangered manatee, plus hundreds of  species of birds and plants. The Ding Darling Wildlife Society has plenty of information about preservation, as does Corkscrew , Babcocks and Everglades offer wildlife safaris. If you're feeling energetic, try a game of golf on one of  the many championship courses in the area, or try boating or fishing There are a wide variety of shops in the area, such as, Miromar ranging from  factory outlet malls and pricey boutiques selling the latest designer wear, to quirky art and souvenir shops.
